Slowing down: Organisations are doing it, but don’t like to talk about it

The contradiction in slowing things down to produce better work is not something organisations like to talk about. It’s a taboo subject, according to # author of In Praise of .

At a recent symposium on Slow Media, organised by Bath Spa University, Honore shared some examples of how employers are slowing down the working day for employees. At car manufacturer VW, email servers have been tweaked so that no emails are sent out of work time. And at retailer Amazon meetings start with up to 30 minutes of silence in order for people to gather their thoughts.

We caught up with Honore after his talk and asked him about how organisations are adopting ‘slow’ strategies.
