As a learning platform, LinkedIn looks very useful for employees as it will provide you with options based on your skills and experience. By opening up the platform to other content providers, its offer becomes more compelling. Definitely a vendor worth keeping an eye on.
Editor’s note: An anthropologist was sent in to a university that produces leading research into how students learn best to find out why the university wan’t putting its research into practice. The key finding? Fear of looking stupid. This is a great example of how and why innovation stalls.
Editor’s note: This week was the first time I have heard Dr Mee-Yan Cheung-Judge talk about organisational design. Her insights are so relevant to L&D, looking at systems thinking, behavioural science, group dynamics and external environmental factors. In this video, Cheung-Judge looks at ways to think about organisational change and in so doing frames the role of learning in change.

Not surprisingly there is a disconnect between what leaders say about the tech that is available to employees and what the employees say about that technology. The message here is: involve your employees in developing the tech they need to do their jobs better.
