Curation in learning – a definition

0

In a previous post I set out three approaches to curation in learning. They are: as an approach to learning design, as an approach to personal knowledge management and as an approach to organisational knowledge management.

What I failed to do in that piece was provide a definition for curation in learning. So, here is my definition . . .

Gathering, sense-making and sharing information for a defined audience and need.

From an organisational learning perspective, the key elements here are defining the audience and their need. Curating information is a time-consuming activity and you want to spend that time well. Understanding what you need to curate and why and who for will enable you to provide relevant and timely resources.
