The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development last week shared the first update in its ongoing research into emerging trends in learning and development.
Under the banner ‘From steady state to ready state’, the CIPD’s learning and talent development advisor John McGurk has been developing research into new perspectives on learning.
The CIPD outlined its approach to L&D research last year in it’s report From steady state to ready state: a need for fresh thinking in learning and talent development?
Last week, McGurk and Paul Howard-Jones, reader in neuroscience and education at the university of Bristol, delivered a webinar on neuro-myths in learning as a part of the research. This will be followed by webinars on cognitive science and behavioural economics.
McGurk said he is looking forward to working with the L&D community to develop new insights into how adults learn.
