Curatr has launched the next iteration of its social learning platform.
Curatr version 3 is HTML5 and Tin Can compliant and features learner portfolios, a badging system and an overhauled gamification engine.
Ben Betts, CEO of HT2, the company behind Curatr, said the product had been one of the company’s biggest developments to-date. “We’ve completely updated the platform around both HTML5 and TinCan. HTML5 enables us to deliver a visually stunning interface on every device; smartphone, tablet and desktop. And TinCan enables us to deliver detailed data back to the organisation’s LMS seamlessly, without the need for an expensive IT integration.
“I’m a firm believer that the future of organisational learning sits outside the LMS. Those sorts of systems still have important roles to play, but more as aggregators of data than content delivery. Traditional LMS’ simply cannot compete with a platform like Curatr that is specifically built to promote engagment and to reward critical thought.”
The new version of the platform also provides new group features, content curation algorithms and extensive search facilities. Curatr has also launched its first two free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) – Gamification in Education and Learning about Social Learning and Managing Service Excellence.
Betts added: “We’re very confident in our platform’s ability to promote new connections and spark new ideas in learners around the world. As such, we’d like to invite potential learners to come and try out one of our free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to get a taster for what learning in Curatr is really like”.
