In this presentation I draw the distinction between personalized learning and personal learning, arguing that the latter emphasizes environment and affordances, while the former emphasizes content and testing. I describe examples of experiential learning such as the NeuroTouch Simulator built by NRC and discuss how the same approach informs the creation of the MOOC. I conclude by explaining the development of the Learning and Performance Support system as a personal learning environment.
