Next month sees two unconferences take place in the UK for L&D professionals. The first is to be held in Glasgow on 3 October and will be followed by a second unconference in London on 31 October.
The fact there are two in the same month would suggest that more L&D professionals are keen to both investigate the format and explore less formal ways of sharing knowledge and learning from peers.
Both events have been created out of the #l&d connect network of L&D professionals. From a small group, this network has grown in size to produce unconferences as well as the weekly #ldinsight Twitter chat which takes place at 8am UK time every Friday.
Two of the organisers of L&D Connect events, David Goddin and Julie Drybrough, gave a short talk at the recent Learning Live conference held in London. In that they explained the roots of the network, how it works and more about unconferences and the Twitter chat. We videoed the talk (apologies for poor sound quality).
